Comparative Clinical study of Local & Systernic Treatment of Unruptured Ectopic Pregnancy with Methotrexate

Abstract
|
|
|
Twenty-one cases of unruptured tubal pregnancies were treated with systemic & local MTX injections under the laparoscopy or transvaginal sonography.
Initial serum 0-human chorionic gonadotropin level were 262 to 8156.7mIU/ml (mean 2674:3) in systemic injection group & 632-15076mIU/ml(mean 4488.4) in local MTX injection group before treatment.
There were no differences in the resolution time between local & systemic MTX treatment group. The median resolution time was 17 to 52 days(mean 28.5) and 6 to 41 days(mean 26.7) in system & local MM treatment, respectively.
The tubal patency rate & intrauterine pregnancy rate seemed to be higher after systemic MTX treatment(75 % :66.7%) than local injection(42.9 % : 40%). Therefore, we recommend the use of systemic MTX treatment rather than local MIX treatment in nonsurgical treatment of unruptured ectopic pregnancy.
